BOLOGNA TO FLORENCE: Via Degli Dei – The Walk of the Gods

The Via degli Dei—Walk of the Gods—is a 130 km trek through the stunning Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, linking Bologna to Florence along ancient Roman paths.

Over seven days, you’ll move through beech forests and rolling hills, with every step serving up spectacular views and a taste of authentic mountain fare: creamy cheeses, chestnut flour breads, pasta and desserts; cured meats, and wild mushrooms that capture the essence of Emilia Romagna and Tuscany’s overlapping Apennine borders.

This isn’t just a walk; it’s a journey that is thoughtfully crafted for those who crave more—handpicked boutique hotels, exclusive tastings, and heartfelt encounters with local foragers, mushroom gatherers, cooks, farmers, and artisans. Each day brings fresh discoveries and genuine connections, inviting you to experience the trail with comfort and a true insider’s perspective.

Hosted and led by Carol Sicbaldi, who has called both Bologna and Florence home for over a decade in each place–you’ll benefit from her intimate knowledge of regional flavors and the unique customs and folklore that color each territory. With Carol, this walk becomes not just a trek, but a warmly shared story waiting to unfold.

Dates: April 4-18, 2026.
